Wayne HC now allowing 2 visitors

GREENVILLE — Wayne HealthCare has updated its visitor policy, the hospital announced Monday.

Two (2) visitors are now allowed for inpatient visitation, emergency department and OB visits, as well as outpatient/surgical procedures.

Current patients and patients coming for an emergency department visit, hospitalization, or outpatient procedure, will be permitted two (2) visitors/support persons in the building at a time, given adequate social distancing can be met and the personal protective equipment supply remains stable. The allowance of support persons for patients’ office visits may vary by provider. No visitation will be allowed by anyone under the age of 18 unless they are the parent or legal guardian of a pediatric patient. Exceptions may include:

-End-of-life or life-threatening situations will be permitted. Those will be made on a case-by-case compassionate basis.

-Hospitalized patients may have up to five (5) visitors per day, not to exceed two (2) visitors at any one time. This will be at the discretion of the care team.

-Visitation for confirmed or suspected COVID-19 cases (unless above criteria met) will be addressed based on clinical care guidance and available protective equipment to ensure visitation can occur safely.

Wayne said it will continue to perform screening protocols before allowing visitors to enter. The hospital said visitor restrictions will be rescinded when the state of emergency declaration is lifted for the State of Ohio.
