DC animal shelter to host open house

GREENVILLE — The Darke County Animal Shelter will hold its second Open House on Saturday, July 30, from 12-3 p.m. The shelter is located at 5066 County Home Rd., in Greenville. Dr. Gerber of Greenlawn Animal Clinic will provide microchipping, and vaccinations for dogs and cats, at the following rates: dogs: rabies $10, DHLPP $17, Bordatella $12, Influenza $20, Heartworm test $15, Microchip $25; cats: rabies $10, FLVRCP $25, Microchip $25. Space is limited, call the Darke County Animal Shelter at 937-547-1645.

Free food and drink will be available while supplies last, donated by Winners Meats, Ketring Locker Service, Eikenberry’s, and Rural King: hotdogs, hamburgers, chicken sandwiches, yogurt, and water.

There will be free door prize tickets, for: 18 holes of golf (with cart) from Beachwood, $50 Hi Tec gift card, Dairy King & Queen Gift cards, a gift basket from MM Defense, KitchenAid Hand Mixer, cat and dog earrings from Wieland Jewelers, and a $100 Butcher Block gift certificate.

Other people and vendors scheduled to attend, are: Darke County Sheriff’s Deputy Tyler Young, and K-9 Annie, Conway’s Pooch Parlor, Country Dog House, Darke County Parks, Blazing Red Kennels (doing an obedience demo), Hill’s Pet Nutrition, Koenig Equipment (John Deere), Air Brush Tatoo, Styles & More by Melissa, Pink Zebra/Tupperware, Scentsy/Tastefully Simple, Soni’s Suds Soap, Darke County Apparel, Tribute Funeral Home, and more.
