DCRW Club gets update on Ohio ag

GREENVILLE — The Darke County Republican Women’s Club (DCRWC) is hosting featured speaker Rachael Vonderhaar at 6:30 p.m. on Nov. 14 at the Shawnee Nature Preserve, 4267 State Route 502, Greenville. Vonderhaar is Region 8 Representative to the Corn and Wheat Growers Association.

“We are so pleased to provide this chance for the residents of Darke County to receive an update on the current state of Ohio agriculture and a chance to learn about farming and how our everyday decisions can directly or indirectly impact the farming community. This will be a great opportunity to learn more,” said Jaime LeVeck, DCRWC President.

Vonderhaar represents small grain growers in District 8, which includes Butler, Champaign, Clermont, Clinton, Darke, Greene, Hamilton, Miami, Montgomery, Preble and Warren counties.

Vonderhaar is actively involved in her community through her position as Preble County Commissioner and her service to the Ohio and Preble County Farm Bureaus, Ohio Agri-Women, American Agri-Women, Ohio Federation of Republican Women and Farm Credit Council. Additionally, Vonderhaar is the current chair of the Wheat Foods Council. She also volunteers time with the Twin Valley South/MVCTC FFA and Preble County Economic Development.

Vonderhaar and her husband, Alan, farm in Camden (Preble County), where they grow corn, wheat, malting barley and soybeans.

The program is free and does not require reservations. The Club offers an optional dinner at 6 p.m., prior to the speaker’s program. The meal cost per person is $10 and requires reservations.
