Greenville swim placed first in Troy Christian swim meet

GREENVILLE — The Greenville High School swim competed in two swim meets on Jan. 20 and 21. They took first place at the Troy Christian swim meet on Jan. 20 at the Robinson YMCA. They then competed at the Piqua YMCA on Jan. 21.

At the Troy Christian meet, the girls took first in their division while the boys took second.

For the girls, freshmen Ava Glass and Reese Addington finished first and second in the 200 freestyle with times of 2:45.89 and 3:00.58 respectively. Glass also finished fifth in the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:27.

Sophomore Rebekah Bunch finished first in the 500 freestyle with a time of 8:34.93. Freshman Isabel Badell finished third in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:30.54.

For the girls relay teams, they finished first in the 200 medley relay and first in the 400 yard freestyle relay. They also finished second in the 200 yard freestyle relay.

For the boys, senior Caden Lecklider finished first in the 200 IM with a time of 2:21.66. He also finished second in the 100 freestyle with a time of 55.14.

Freshman Andy Miller finished second in the 200 freestyle with a time of 3:03.53.

At the Piqua swim meet, Badell finished first in the 400 freestyle with a time of 6:10.95. She also placed fourth in the 50 freestyle with a time of 35.19.

Glass finished third in the 100 freestyle with a time of 1:25.05 with sophomore Elle Cannon finishing fourth in the same event with a time of 1:25.14. Cannon finished third in the 200 freestyle with a time of 3:18.38.

The girls relay teams finished fourth in the 200 freestyle relay and third in the 400 freestyle relay.

For the boys, Lecklider finished first in the 100 butterfly with a time of 1:12.72 and first in the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:14.36.

Freshman Logan Kimmel finished second in the 200 freestyle with a time of 2:49.93.

The boys relay teams finished second in the 200 and 400 freestyle relay.
