Jan. 31 marks last discounted day for annual dog licenses


DARKE COUNTY — The end of licensing season is upon us! Dog owners have until Jan. 31 to purchase licenses for $18 each before the penalty will kick in, increasing the cost to $36 per license. Non-licensed pets may then be issued a citation.

In addition to the Darke County Animal Shelter and the Darke County Auditor’s Office, the following locations have licenses available for purchase: Ansonia Auto Parts, Arcanum Veterinary Service, GNR Patty’s Market in Bradford, Greenville Ace Hardware, Farmers State Bank in New Madison, Birt’s Store in New Weston, Osgood State Bank, and Versailles Ace Hardware.

Dogs can also be registered online at www.doglicenses.us/oh/darke. A $2.25 processing fee will be applied per dog.

Please note that according to RC 955.14(E), authorized agents in the county selling dog licenses are required to charge an administrative fee of $0.75 for each dog license in addition to the registration fee.
