GREENVILLE — The Greenville High School Vocal Music students will perform their annual Winter Concert on Monday, March 6, 7 p.m., at Memorial Hall. This concert is free of charge.
The Winter Concert will consist of various classical and sacred music selections. Collage will start the program with “Tongo”, “Cantate”, and “Why We Sing”. The Wavaires will perform four selections from their annual church cantata, which include “Rest on Us”, “Goodness of God”, “King of Kings”, and “Overcome”. Girls Glee will sing “Gloria”, “Light of Hope, Song of Peace”, and “Encourage One Another”. The Concert Choir ladies will conclude the evening with “Cantar”, “Clap Your Hands”, and “Can You Hear?”. Various solo and small group acts will also take place between large group selections.
The Wavaires will perform their entire church cantata in the upcoming weeks at local churches in Greenville. The four Wavaire selections listed above will be performed, along with “We Praise You”, “King of Glory”, and “God So Loved”. March 5, the Wavaires will be at Radiant Church at 10 a.m. March 12 they will be at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church at 10:30 a.m. March 19 they will be at East Main Church of Christ at 10:30 a.m., and March 26 they will be at Trinity Wesleyan Church at 10 a.m. The Wavaires will conclude their cantata season on April 2 at First United Methodist Church at 10 a.m.
The GHS Choirs are directed by Chelsea Whirledge, accompanied by Christopher Andres, and choreographed by Brooke (Jendrusik) Williams.
