4th of July Picnic and Children’s Parade coming

Make plans to attend the 4th of July Picnic and Children’s Parade in Ivester Park. The event is sponsored by the Arcanum Preservation Society – the cookout is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and the parade will start at 1 p.m. Hamburgers and hotdogs will be served hot off the grill for a donation. Registration is required for the parade. Please visit APS’s Facebook page for a registration form, registration will begin at noon in the Scout House. Bring the family to Ivester Park for lunch and then stay to cheer the kids on during our fourth annual Children’s Parade. All money raised helps support ongoing restoration of the Arcanum Opera House.

SAVE THE DATE ~ September 23 and 24 – The Harvest Extravaganza event is a popular gathering that takes place on a country farm located between Arcanum and Greenville at 5207 Weaver’s-Ft. Jefferson Road. This event is known for its wide range of vendors, live bluegrass music, and delicious food options. With over 75 unique vendors, attendees have plenty of opportunities to peruse a variety of handmade crafts, artisanal goods, antiques, and one-of-a-kind treasures. From locally made candles and soaps to handcrafted jewelry and clothing, there is something for everyone at this event. In addition to the vendors, the Harvest Extravaganza event features live bluegrass music throughout the day. This provides a lively and festive atmosphere for attendees to enjoy while they browse and shop. And let us not forget about the food! The event boasts a range of delicious food options, including wood-fired pizza that is sure to satisfy any hungry stomach. Other delicious foods on offer may include sandwiches, fresh produce, baked goods, and more. Overall, the Harvest Extravaganza event is a must-see for anyone looking for a fun-filled day out in the countryside. Whether you are looking for unique gifts, live music, or delicious food, this event has something for everyone.

Picnic’s Pizza and Dollar Tree/Family Dollar are teaming up to host a Summer Cruise-In on July 9 from 2-6 p.m. Exhibitor parking will be in the Family Dollar lot. Spectator parking will be available at both Family Dollar and Picnic’s Pizza. There will be corn hole, kid’s games, pizza and ice cream! More details to come! Mark your calendar!

The Farmer’s Market will be held every Saturday for the summer and is sponsored by AWTHS in Veteran’s Park in downtown Arcanum. This will begin the held every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 12 Noon and continue through August. Anyone interested in selling their produce or crafts is invited to set up their booth/stand. Did you know that the Arcanum Pool is available for private parties? Now that the summer is here it is the perfect time to host a pool party! The Arcanum Pool is available to rent for private parties every evening (based on availability) for the summer! To make your reservation call the Village of Arcanum offices at 692-8500 or see the pool manager at the pool or call the pool at 692-8230 to check the schedule and set up your summer fun! The pool is available for three hours for the rental fee of $225 which includes lifeguards. Have your company picnic, birthday celebration, club outing, family gathering or your church group, 4-H club, sports team, or family reunion at the Village of Arcanum Pool. Bring toys, games, and have an exciting time splashing around! Snacks, meals and cake are permitted. When it comes to keeping cool in the summertime, the Arcanum Pool is one of the best deals in town.

Here is another Save the Date – if you graduated from Arcanum High School during the 1970s decade, they will again this year be having their All 70s Reunion! The event will be held at the American Legion, 325 N. Ohio Street, Greenville on Saturday, August 19 from 1 to 11 p.m. Pay at the door $12 per person or $20 per couple. There will be a cash bar and snacks. Come ready to reminisce, greet old friends, and make new ones!
