GOP Women to feature 2nd District Court of Appeals Judge Lewis

GREENVILLE — The Darke County Republican Women’s Club (DCRWC) is hosting featured speaker Ohio’s Second District Court of Appeals Judge Ronald C. Lewis, at 6:30 p.m. on Nov. 13 at the Double M Diner, 537 South Broadway Street – Suite #104 (enter from East 5th Street), Greenville.

“Judge Lewis will provide an update on experiences since assuming office, activities of the Court and future plans/goals of the Court. I would encourage each of you to attend and bring a friend. Judge Lewis joined the Second District Court of Appeals in January 2022 after being appointed by Governor Mike DeWine to fill the seat vacated upon Judge Michael Hall’s retirement. Prior to joining the Court of Appeals, Judge Lewis served as the Xenia Municipal Court Judge.

Judge Lewis graduated from Ohio Northern University with a BSBA in Business in 1990 and from the Ohio Northern University School of Law in 1993 where he served on the Executive Board of Moot Court. He worked his way through college in the family construction business and on the family farm raising hogs.

In addition to being licensed to practice law in the state of Ohio, he is licensed to practice in the United States Supreme Court.

He was born in Xenia and graduated from Xenia High School in 1984 where he was recently inducted into the Xenia Community Schools Hall of Honor.

Prior to his judicial service, he served as the Xenia City Law Director from 2001 to 2016 and the Xenia City Prosecutor from 2000 to 2019. He also served as the prosecutor for the Greene County Sheriff’s Office, Ohio State Patrol, Greene County Parks, State Parks, State Watercraft Enforcement Officers, Greene County Animal Control, the Village of Yellow Springs, Bellbrook, Sugarcreek Township, Cedarville, Jamestown and the City of Trotwood. He was in the private practice of law with the firm of Wolaver, Lewis and Tornichio.

Judge Lewis is a member of the Xenia Rotary Club (past board member and president elect), Xenia Area Chamber of Commerce (board member and past president), the Greene County Bar Association (past president), the Ohio Bar Association, the Criminal Law and Procedure and Legislative Committees for the Ohio Judicial Conference. Previously he was a member of the Glen Helen Association, Greene County Law Library Board, Family Violence Prevention Center, The Community Network Board, and the Dayton Masonic Learning Center Board. He previously worked in the U.S. House of Representatives and the United States Senate as an assistant to a Chief Legal Counsel.

Judge Lewis first became interested in appellate work when he worked as a law clerk for Ohio Supreme Court Justice Alice Robie Resnick.

Judge Lewis and his wife have four kids and live on the family farm on which he was raised in Xenia.
