GREENVILLE — The Darke County Board of Commissioners met Wednesday afternoon to discuss fund transfers and releases throughout the county. Commissioners Matt Aultman and Larry Holmes were present. Commissioner Mike Stegall was absent from the meeting.
The meeting began with Resolution (R-1-2021), which entailed the transfer of $7,254 from an outside fund to the Darke County Municipal Court for special projects.
Resolution (R-2-2021) was approved, which provides funding from the state to Darke County Job and Family Services (JFS). In total, JFS will recieve $77,051 per month for the 2021 year. This is a part of the public assistance mandated share for the 2021 year, and these funds were transferred from the county general fund to JFS. In conjunction with the previous resolution, Resolution (R-3-2021) was also approved. This resolution provides $63,950.34 to JFS for children services. The monthly payment amount will likely drop after the first few months of 2021 once the new state budget takes full effect.
The commissioners presented County Engineer Jim Surber’s annual report. This report was published in the Jan. 6 edition of The Daily Advocate.
Next, the commissioner’s addressed a release of funds from the state. On or about, but not before, Jan. 20, 2021, the commissioners will submit a request to the State of Ohio for the release of federal funds. These funds are intended for the Darke County CDGB Allocation Projects, which encompasses sewer facility improvements in Ansonia, water facility improvements in Gettysburg, and and sidewalk improvements in Hollansburg and Palestine.
Another release of funds request will be submitted to the state on or about Jan. 20, 2021 for the Darke County CDGB Critical Infrastructure Project, which will provide a new flood and drainage treatment facility in Union City.
