Arcanum and Bradford will celebrate Homecoming this week.

Both teams are coming off losses with the Trojans narrowly falling to Bethel 21-20 last week, while Bradford continues in search of its first win of the season after losing to Tri-Village 46-21.

Darke County winners last week were Ansonia 56-36 over Mississinawa Valley and the aforementioned Tri-Village, 46-21 over Bradford.

Next week, the last two Homecoming games for Darke County will be played. Ansonia will host Twin Valley South and Versailles will host New Bremen.

Here’s a look at this week’s matchups.

Game of the Week

Ansonia at National Trail

Records: Ansonia (4-2, 3-1 CCC), National Trail (3-3, 1-3 CCC)

Last year: Ansonia 40, National Trail 7

Last week: Ansonia 56, Mississinawa Valley 36; Tri-County North 24, National 21

Outlook: The Tigers jumped up in the Region 28 computer rankings this week and will look to stay there with a win over the Blazers.

Up next: Twin Valley South at Ansonia (Oct. 12), National Trail at Mississinawa Valley (Oct. 12)

Other games

Greenville at Piqua

Records: Greenville (3-3, 0-1 GWOC North), Piqua (4-2, 1-0 GWOC North)

Last year: Piqua 42, Greenville 7

Last week: Vandalia Butler 37, Greenville 21; Piqua 14, Sidney 12

Outlook: Greenville has gone back-and-forth each week since winning its first tow games. After losing last Friday, the Green Wave should be due for a ‘W’ against the Indians.

Up next: Tippecanoe at Greenville (Oct. 12), Piqua at Vandalia Butler (Oct. 12)

Mississinawa Valley at Fort Loramie

Records: Mississinawa Valley (3-3, 2-2 CCC), Fort Loramie (5-1, 4-0 CCC)

Last year: Fort Loramie 55, Mississinawa Valley 0

Last week: Ansonia 56, Mississinawa Valley 36; Fort Loramie 52, Twin Valley South 6

Outlook: The Blackhawks have a similar kind of offense as this week’s opponent. Both are pass heavy and after losing to rival Ansonia last week, Mississinawa Valley will be looking to upset the top team in the Cross County Conference.

Up next: National Trail at Mississinawa Valley (Oct. 12), Fort Loramie at Tri-Village (Oct. 12)

Tri-County North at Arcanum

Records: Tri-County North (4-2, 3-1 CCC), Arcanum (1-5, 1-3 CCC)

Last week: Tri-County North 24, National Trail 21; Bethel 21, Arcanum 20

Outlook: The Trojans came very close to getting their second win last week, falling by just one point to Bethel. With it being Homecoming this week, perhaps that second win will arrive against the Panthers.

Up next: Bethel at Tri-County North (Oct. 12), Arcanum at Miami East (Oct. 12)

Miami East at Bradford

Records: Miami East (4-2, 2-2 CCC), Bradford (0-6, 0-4 CCC)

Last year: Miami East 55, Bradford 8

Last week: Covington 19, Miami East 17; Tri-Village 46, Bradford 21

Outlook: The tough season continues for the Railroaders, although they put up the most points in a game this season (21) last week against Tri-Village.

Up next: Arcanum at Miami East (Oct. 12), Bradford at Covington (Oct. 12)

Versailles at Marion Local

Records: Versailles (2-4, 1-3 MAC), Marion Local (6-0, 4-0 MAC)

Last year: Marion Local 28, Versailles 18

Last week: Anna 41, Versailles 21; Marion Local 28, St. Henry 7

Outlook: Marion Local is a perennial playoff program, so they always have a target on their backs. Versailles is the next team to step up and try to knock them from the world of the undefeated.

Up next: New Bremen at Versailles (Oct. 12), Marion Local at Minster (Oct. 12)
