GREENVILLE – Rescue personnel and law enforcement responded to a three-car accident Wednesday afternoon in front of the Darke County fairgrounds.

At 3:01 p.m., Darke County deputies along with Greenville Police, Greenville Rescue and Greenville Fire, responded to the intersection of Sweitzer Street and Fair Street.

The preliminary investigation revealed a yellow 2014 Ford Escape driven by Jeffrey Saye 50, of Independence, Missouri was traveling north on Sweitzer Street approaching Fair Street with a red stop light and rear-ended a Black 2014 Chevy Equinox stopped in traffic, driven by Gary Mihlbachler 49, of Cincinnati, Ohio causing his Chevy Equinox to rear-end another stopped vehicle, a 2014 Maroon Buick LeSabre driven by Betty Hartzell 60, of Greenville.

Saye was treated at the scene for a minor arm injury, and the other drivers were not injured. Saye was cited for assured clear distance ahead.
