On and ‘Bout Broadway – August

Aug. 3- The Greenville High School (GHS) Class of 1953 monthly lunch at 11 a.m at the M and M Diner, which is located at the Palace on Fifth Street.

Aug. 4- the GHS Class of 1949 monthly lunch will be held at 11:30 a.m. at the Fairlawn on Sweitzer Street.

Aug.7 – First Friday, a wonderful event with the Artisan Stroll on Broadway from 6-9 p.m. Lots of beautiful art work and other treasures to see. Before your evening event enjoy Lunch on the Lawn from 11:30-1 p.m. at the Library. Enjoy a tasty lunch and music, bring a friend or two. A great way to start First Friday in August.

Aug. 11 – The Greenville High School class of 1951 noon lunch will be held at the Asian Buffet on Wagner Avenue.

Aug.12- Meeting for their monthly breakfast at 9 a.m. the GHS Class of 1950. Final plans are being made for our 65th class reunion on Aug. 22. Please try to attend and have a fantastic breakfast.

Aug. 14- Ending of World War II.

Aug. 21 – It’s that time again. The 159th Annual Great Darke County Fair begins and ends Aug.29. Enjoy every morning, afternoon and evening with family, friends and all the events. Be safe and have fun!

Aug. 22 – Lots of GHS class reunions starting to renew old friendships of classmates. I’m sure there are some not mentioned but do have three listed:

• Class of 1950 at the Brethren Retirement Center (BRC) in the Brick Room from 5-9 p.m. Saturday.

• Class of 1955 meet at the Hills of Judea.

• The Class of 1975 will meet at Wayne Lakes. Please contact Dana or Greg Wilson for details on time, etc.

Know there are a few more classes meeting.

Have fun and enjoy – Remember we’re all the same age and we survived Greenville High School, and looking back on wonderful years.

Aug. 27 – Not sure if GHS Class of 1955 will be having its luncheon at Turtle Creek. Check with Georgianna at 548-2456 since they meet for the reunion.

A busy August. Enjoy Concerts in the Park on Sundays except on the 23rd. Check The Daily Advocate for their Sunday dates.

Downtown Farmers Market on Saturday in front of the Courthouse from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Miss the trees! But still looks great!

Kitchen Aid cooking classes free on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday at 10:30 a.m.

Also opening in September is the Merchant House family restaurant.
