The Focus: Good grace vibrations

I think you’ll agree with me about this … there are too many churches today that are experts at putting GUILT on people. I heard one man say that he’s been on so many ‘guilt trips’ at his church that he should be getting frequent flyer miles!!

Seriously, is the ‘church’ to be a travel agency for ‘guilt trips’?

On any given weekend there are people sitting in the seats of your church building who are dying on the inside and need a word of encouragement, hope and a touch of grace.

An old hymn that was written by Fanny J. Crosby expresses it well … “Rescue The Perishing”. One of the verses of this hymn says:

“Down in the human heart, crushed by the tempter,

Feelings lie buried that grace can restore.

Touched by a loving heart, wakened by kindness,

Chords that are broken will vibrate once more.

Rescue the perishing, care for the dying.”

There are people in your church family and my church family who are dying .. maybe not physically … but emotionally and spiritually.

They’re ‘down in the human heart, crushed by the tempter’ and they need a touch of grace so that the broken chords will vibrate once more.

They certainly don’t need another ‘guilt trip’!

Another old song comes to my mind … but it’s by the Beach Boys! “Good Vibrations” … remember this one? Well, that’s exactly what ‘Rescue the Perishing” is saying.

So … is your ‘church’ a place of good GRACE vibrations – where the broken chords can vibrate again?

Pray today that your ‘church’ will be a place of GRACE!

Let’s keep our focus on Him!!
