Greenville cross country runners conclude seasons at district meet

CLAYTON – The Greenville girls finished 11th and the Greenville boys finished 14th at the Division I district cross country meet on Saturday at Miami Valley Career Technical Center to end their seasons.

The Greenville girls finished 11th out of 21 teams in the Division I district meet.

Senior Ally Hayes led the Lady Wave as she finished 55th overall with a time of 21:51.04. Also for Greenville, senior Lexi Roth finished 62nd in 21:58.85, junior Brooke Perreira finished 65th in 22:02.36, senior Stacey Strobel finished 69th in 22:27.49, sophomore Grace Coakley finished 76th in 22:45.41, junior Brianna Hartle finished 94th in 23:52.21, and freshman Tiffany Strobel finished 104th in 24:25.97.

Troy sophomore Morgan Gigandet won the Division I girls race, which included 150 runners, with a time of 18:04.01.

Troy, Beavercreek, Lebanon, Miamisburg, Centerville, Bellbrook, Northmont and Springboro advanced to regionals as teams in the girls meet.

The cutoff for individuals to qualify for regionals was 20:56.33, which Bellbrook junior Lauren Kemper set with her 32nd place finish.

The Greenville boys finished 14th out of 25 teams in the Division I district meet.

Senior Jacob Hounshell led the Green Wave as he finished 78th overall with a time of 18:45.41. Also for Greenville, senior Carson Bruner finished 79th in 18:47.82, sophomore Andrew Kocher finished 84th in 18:51.44, senior Quintin Muhlenkamp finished 87th in 18:54.87, senior Tanner Herrmann finished 94th in 19:02.65, sophomore Seth Unger finished 122nd in 19:52.17, and sophomore Jacob Subler finished 124th in 19:54.85.

Beavercreek junior Ben Ewert won the Division I boys race, which included 171 runners, with a time of 16:00.75.

Beavercreek, Lebanon, Miamisburg, Centerville, Springboro, Fairmont, Vandalia-Butler and Bellbook qualified for regionals as teams in the boys meet.

The cutoff for individuals to qualify for regionals was 17:32.26, which Springboro senior Tucker Dandenault set with his 32nd place finish.
