PITSBURG – Franklin Monroe’s Jake Shellabarger was named the 2015 Cross County Conference boys soccer player of the year by the league.
Shellabarger earned the conference’s player of the year honor as the junior helped guide the Jets to the conference championship with a perfect 6-0 record in league play.
Along with Shellabarger, Franklin Monroe’s Brett Bowlin, Cody Coppess and Bryce Robison all were named first team all-CCC.
Franklin Monroe’s Cade McGlinch made the CCC’s special mention team, and the Jets’ Matthew Poe made the league’s honorable mention team.
Adam Bell from Miami East was named the CCC boys soccer coach of the year.
Franklin Monroe won the league championship with a 6-0 record. Bethel finished second at 4-1-1, Miami East finished third at 4-2, Newton finished fourth at 3-2-1, Twin Valley South finished fifth at 2-3-1, Tri-County North finished sixth at 1-5, and National Trail finished seventh at 0-6.
