PITSBURG – The Franklin Monroe girls basketball team picked up its first win of the season on Saturday, defeating Twin Valley South 48-31.
Franklin Monroe took a 14-4 first quarter lead and extended its advantage to 29-16 at halftime. The Lady Jets led 38-21 through three quarters en route to the 17-point win.
Carrie Baker led Franklin Monroe with 14 points in the victory. Also for the Lady Jets, Hannah Eley scored 12, Kinsey Goins scored nine, Tara Goubeaux scored five, Allyson Masterson scored four, and Kennedy Morris scored four.
Abby Creech led Twin Valley South with eight points. Also for the Panthers, Kelsie Shafer scored seven, Mylan Crews scored six, Jaycie Fisher scored four, Haily Keener scored four, and Morgan Newhart scored two.
Franklin Monroe will play at Tri-County North on Monday.
