GREENVILLE – Drivers will need to find a new route in to town as the intersection of Ohio and East Main Street will be will be closed starting Monday, Feb. 1 at 7 a.m.
“The intersection will be closed through the end of August due to the reconstruction of the intersection in conjunction with the new Greenville City school’s K-8 facility,” said the City of Greenville’s Safety/Service Director Curt Garrison.
Ohio and East Main Streets will be closed to all traffic between Fourth and Greenmoore, as well as Virginia and Orchard.
“The city asks that motorists and pedestrians adhere to the road closed signs,” said Garrison.
Non-commercial vehicles traveling through neighborhood streets to avoid the intersection should follow the 25 mile per hour speed limit.
All commercial traffic should follow state route detours. Commercial traffic should not be directed to or travel on neighborhood streets.
