PIQUA – Brooke Dunlevy of Bradford scored her 1,000th career point during the Edison State Community College women’s basketball game against Owens Community College on Wednesday.
Dunlevy reached the milestone during the first quarter with a driving layup. The 5-foot 8-inch sophomore has been a force on the court, averaging 21.2 points per game, making 45.1 percent of her field goal attempts, making 34.8 percent of her 3-point attempts and making 66.3 percent of free throws during her two–year career at Edison State.
Dunlevy has scored 1,018 points during her career and is believed to be the first Edison State athlete to have achieved this milestone.
Dunlevy is coached by head coach Tim McMahon and assistant coach Brent New.
“It’s been a great honor to coach an outstanding athlete like Brooke,” McMahon said. “It’s quite an accomplishment to score 1,000 points in two years, and she has every reason to be proud.”
Dunlevy and the Chargers will play their final home game of the season on Wednesday in Piqua. Prior to the game, Edison State’s sophomore athletes including Dunlevy will be honored.
