GREENVILLE — New lighting will be seen around the Greenville City Park, thanks to a couple of grants written by Deb Berger Hall, park manager.
A $2,500 grant was awarded from the Harry Stephens Memorial, for the purpose of the installation of lighting under the walkway next to the creek under the Main Street Bridge for the safety of the evening and morning joggers and walkers.
“We also received $1,800 from the Ketrow Foundation for LED lights and fixtures throughout the pool house,” Hall said. “The LED lights will save the community a lot of money. We are replacing them because the old lights were not functioning properly.”
The Greenville Street Department workers will do the work on the installation of the lights, according to her.
Hall added that she is applying for another grant to paint the slide at the swimming pool at the end of the year, with that project to start in the spring of 2017.
