Greenville’s Tyler Netzley qualifies for OHSAA district bowling meet

DAYTON – Greenville senior Tyler Netzley qualified for the Ohio High School Athletic Association Division I district bowling meet by rolling a 503 series in the sectionals at Poelking South Lanes.

Netzley rolled games of 174, 182 and 147 for the three-game series of 503, earning one of nine individual district qualifying spots.

Netzley and the rest of the Greenville boys competed on Wednesday in the sectional meet while the Greenville girls bowled on Thursday at Poelking South Lanes.

The Greenville boys finished 18th out of 21 teams in the sectional with a score of 2,869. The Green Wave had games of 690, 705 and 622 for a three-game series of 2,017 then rolled scores of 125, 128, 179, 145, 135 and 140 in the baker games.

Netzley led the Greenville boys, finishing 28th overall with his 503 series. Senior Ted Klepinger finished 50th as he rolled games of 131, 171 and 154 for a 456 three-game series. Sophomore Cullen Blinn had games of 138, 111 and 140 for a total score of 389, placing 61st overall. Freshman Mark Zeiler had games of 128 and 117, senior Malachi Flatter had games of 119 and 124, and senior Jonathon Holman rolled a 99.

The Greenville girls finished 16th out of 22 teams as they had a total score of 3,019. The Lady Wave had games of 683, 733 and 697 for a three-game series of 2,113 then rolled games of 122, 124, 168, 149, 157 and 186 in the bakers.

Junior Alejandra Segura led the Lady Wave with games of 178, 154 and 136 to place 45th overall with a 468 series. Senior Mariah Kohlhorst placed 52nd with games of 110, 166 and 176 for a three-game series of 452. Junior Mackenzie Slade rolled games of 133, 153 and 146 for a 432 series, placing 64th. Freshman Mariah Nicholas had games of 135, 153 and 131 for a 419 series to place 70th. Senior Zoe Fields rolled a 127, and junior Haley Dillman rolled a 108.

Netzley now will bowl in the Division I district meet on Thursday at Beaver-Vu Lanes in Beavercreek.
