Tri-Village’s Allie Downing named AP Southwest District player of the year

DARKE COUNTY – Tri-Village junior Allie Downing was named the Southwest District Division IV girls basketball player of the year by the Associated Press for the 2015-16 season.

Downing averaged 19.5 points per game, 8.6 rebounds per game and 2.7 assists per game for the Cross County Conference champion Lady Patriots.

Tri-Village junior Danika Mann was named second team all-district in Division IV. Ansonia senior Brooke Neal, Bradford junior Mandi Bates, Bradford senior Mackenzie Weldy and Tri-Village junior Shelbey Dowler each earned honorable mention all-Southwest District honors.

In Division III Arcanum junior Stevie Johnting and Versailles senior Lauren Monnin both were named third team all-Southwest District. Arcanum senior Alexis Abner and Versailles sophomore Kami McEldowney both earned honorable mention all-district honors in Division III.
