Red Cross to host Comedy & Caring event

DARKE COUNTY – The Northern Miami Valley Ohio Chapter of the American Red Cross will be hosting a special night of fun and enjoyment for its 16th Annual Comedy and Caring Dinner and Fundraising event.

It will be held on Saturday, May 14 at 6 p.m. at Romer’s Catering in Greenville.

The guest Comedian will be Mike Armstrong, a former police officer who has appeared on HBO, Comedy Central on the Bob and Tom Show.

“He’s from Louisville, Kentucky and is guaranteed to keep us laughing,” said Event chair Mike Henderson.

The evening will be emceed by Dan Franks, past chapter chair, and the opening act will be Darke County’s own Alex “Market Time” Mikos from WTGR-FM 97.5. A special “third act” will feature a local first responder.

Throughout the evening, there will be silent auction items to bid on to raise funds for the many services the Red Cross provides to the community. Services like the Home Fire Campaign (educating people on fire safety and installing new smoke detectors in their homes), Disaster Relief (helping people who’ve been affected by fires, floods, tornadoes etc.), Health & Safety Training (CPR, First Aid/AED and Babysitting classes and Lifeguard training), Military Family Support (Providing emergency communications, training, support to wounded warriors and veterans, and access to community resources.) and much more!
