Arcanum baseball team beats Bradford 7-5

BRADFORD – A three-run first inning led the Arcanum baseball team to a 7-5 Cross County Conference victory against Bradford on Tuesday.

Arcanum scored three runs in the top half of the first for an early lead, and Bradford scored one run in the bottom half of the inning. The teams were even the rest of the way with Arcanum scoring two runs in the third and Bradford responding with two in the fourth. Both teams scored two runs in the sixth inning.

For Arcanum Cole Burrell went 2-for-4 with two RBIs. Austin Baker and Hunter Saunders both went 2-for-3 with a RBI.

For Bradford Mason Justice was 2-for-4. Bryson Canan was 1-for-3 with a run scored. Parker Smith walked twice, scored two runs and drove in a run. Clay Layman scored a run, and Bryant Byers had a RBI.

Burrell was the winning pitcher for Arcanum while Justice was charged with the loss for Bradford.

Arcanum is now 4-2 overall and 3-0 in the CCC. Bradford is 3-4 overall and 0-2 in the CCC.
