GREENVILLE – A Greenville teen was injured after she pulled into the path of truck pulling a boat and trailer.

On April 5 at approximately 9 p.m. Darke County Deputies along with Greenville Township Fire & Rescue responded to the intersection of U.S. Route 127 and Greenville-Celina Road on the report of a two vehicle non-injury crash.

The preliminary investigation revealed Shelby Hartzell, 17, of Greenville was driving a Gray 2005 Nissan Altima and stopped at the intersection of Greenville-Celina Road and U.S. Route 127. She pulled into the intersection in an attempt to travel North on U.S. Route 127 and collided into the side of a Southbound 20-foot boat and trailer being pulled by a Silver 2007 Honda Ridgeline, driven by Daniel Roberts, 50, of Cincinnati. The boat and trailer was disconnected from the vehicle and the boat slid South of the intersection approximately 150 feet into the median.

Hartzell was transported to Wayne HealthCare for a possible minor injury. The Southbound lanes of U.S. Route 127 were closed for approximately one hour.

The accident remains under investigation by the Darke County Sheriff’s Office.
