TROY – The Greenville baseball team picked up its first Greater Western Ohio Conference win of the season on Wednesday, defeating Troy 4-1.
Both Greenville and Troy scored a run in the first inning. The Green Wave then added three runs in the top of the seventh to win 4-1.
For Greenville Tanner Ross was 2-for-3 with a walk and a RBI. Brandon Beyke and Brayden York both were 1-for-4 with a double and a RBI.
Koom Hounshell was 1-for-2 with two walks, a stolen base and a run scored. Kyle Mills went 1-for-3, was hit by a pitch, stole two bases and scored a run. Logan Eldridge was 1-for-4 with two stolen bases and a run scored. Jason Shields also had a hit, and Landon Eldridge stole a base and scored a run.
Mills pitched the complete game for Greenville, allowing a single run on five hits, two walks and one strikeout.
Greenville improved to 2-6 overall and 1-3 in the GWOC North with Wednesday’s win. Troy fell to 6-3 overall and 3-1 in the GWOC North.
