Ansonia baseball team run ruled by Miami East


CASSTOWN – The Ansonia baseball team lost 13-1 in a five-inning run rule at Miami East on Wednesday.

Miami East scored four runs in the first inning, eight in the third and one in the fourth while Ansonia scored its lone run in the third.

Ansonia had six hits and three errors in the game. Miami East had 18 hits and no errors.

Rygh Fortkamp went 2-for-2 with a stolen base and a RBI for Ansonia. Dane Wentworth was 2-for-3 and stole a base. Tyler Neal and Logan Miller both were 1-for-2. Kane Kimmel walked and scored a run.

Kimmel pitched the complete game for Ansonia, allowing 13 earned runs on 18 hits, two walks and six strikeouts.

Ansonia fell to 1-13 with the loss.
