Tri-Village softball team run rules Dayton Christian

MIAMISBURG – The Tri-Village softball team run ruled Dayton Christian 17-3 in five innings on Friday.

After Tri-Village scored a run in the top half of the first, Dayton Christian took its lone lead of the game with two runs in the bottom half of the inning. Tri-Village then scored four runs in the second, three in the third, two in the fourth and seven in the fifth while Dayton Christian scored once more in the bottom of the fifth.

Tri-Village out-hit Dayton Christian seven to four in the game. Both teams committed three errors.

Payge Malott went 2-for-2 with three walks, three RBIs and two runs for Tri-Village. Kloey Murphey was 2-for-4 with two RBIs and a run. Breeann Lipps went 1-for-3 with two RBIs and three runs. Taylor Bowles was 1-for-2 with a walk and two runs. Shelby Frech was 1-for-3 with a walk and a run.

Shelby Holzapfel walked four times, scored three runs and drove in a run. Peyton Bietry walked twice and scored two runs. Breanna Locke walked once and scored a run. Haven Buckley drove in a run and scored a run. Phoebe Campbell also scored a run.

Locke pitched four innings, allowing two runs on three hits, one walk and five strikeouts. Bowles pitched one inning in relief and allowed one run on one hit and two walks.
