Greenville boys tennis team loses to Tecumseh

GREENVILLE – The Greenville boys tennis team fell to 7-5 on the season as it lost 4-1 to Tecumseh on Monday.

Greenville’s lone win of the match came at second singles where Craig Manges beat Michael Green 6-4, 1-6, 1-0 (3). Manges improved to 10-5 on the season with the victory.

Greenville’s Quintin Muhlenkamp lost a close match at third singles, falling 6-1 4-6 1-0 (5) to Anton Brehmer. Muhlenkamp dropped to 9-6 on the season with the loss.

In first singles Greenville’s Noah Haupt lost 6-0, 6-2 to Mitch Foland. Haupt fell to 5-10 on the year with the loss.

In first doubles the Green Wave’s Alex Lance and Tyler Davis lost 6-2, 6-1 to Will Sims and Allen Eben. As a duo, Lance and Davis are 7-4 this season.

In the second doubles match the Wave’s Austin Grote and Max Onkst lost 6-3, 6-2 to Sam Mulkey and Tyler Adams. Monday’s match was the first time Grote and Onkst played together this season.

Greenville fell to 7-5 with Monday’s loss while Tecumseh improved to 11-2.

The Green Wave’s junior varsity team lost 3-2 to Tecumseh. Bryan Day won at second singles for the Wave while the team of Zach Miller and Pablo Badell won at first doubles.

After traveling to Trotwood-Madison and Eaton for away matches, Greenville will return home to face Wayne on Thursday.
