FORT RECOVERY — Commemorating 225 Years of Adventure was kicked off Sunday in Fort Recovery with opening ceremonies and dedication of the Fort Recovery Plaza held at 1 p.m.

Monday was dubbed Business Industry Day, and today is Patriotic Day. Slated for Wednesday is Ag Day; and for Thursday, Proud Past, Promising Future, with the jubilee scheduled for Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

On tap for today are the Archaeology Field School at the Dig Site north of Nature’s Corner from 9 am. to 3 p.m., and the patriotic tribute from 4 to 8 p.m. and a wedding-style meal from 4 to 8 p.m., both at the American Legion Hall.

Scheduled for Wednesday are Evolution in Agriculture from 1 to 8 p.m., a German meal from 4 to 6 p.m., Craft Beer and Wine Tasting from 5 to 10 p.m., Ag Olympics at 6:30 p.m. and the Fort Scavenger Hunt at 7 p.m., all at Ambassador Park.

Thursday’s activities include Down Memory Lane presented by Bob Hart and Jim Wagner from 1 to 6 p.m. at K of C Hall; Opera House tours every 30 minutes from 4 to 7 p.m.; Walking Tours of Downtown [tours begin at noon, 5 and 7 p.m. from the Visitors Center; Youth Re-enactment at 5:30 p.m. at Hein Amphitheater; and Time Capsule Burial at 8 p.m. at VanTrees Park.

Friday’s events include Down Memory Lane by Bob Hart from 1 to 6 p.m. at the K of C Hall, and a history and tour of the Train Depot from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Another event is the annual Jubilee Pie Auction, proceeds of which go to benefit the Fort Recovery Historical Society. Pie bakers and pie buyers are needed. Those who plan to compete are asked to bring their cream, fruit or specialty pie to the stand by the Jubilee headquarters by 7. Immediately after the judging, the pies will be auctioned off.

Saturday’s activities begin with the Prehistoric Indiana Artifact Show and a quilt show, both from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Fort Recovery High School. Then, there will be a luncheon tea with style show at 2 p.m., also at the high school. An antique and garden tractor pull is set set for 3 p.m. at Ambassador Park and a history and tour of the Depot from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the Depot.

The Fireman’s Parade is planned for 2 p.m. Sunday downtown and an auction of drama items and wood carvings at 6 p.m. at Ambassador Park.

The last performance of the outdoor dramas, presented by local residents, will be tonight, but in case of rain it will be held at 9 p.m. Wednesday. Visitors are asked to come relive history as the dramatic portrayal of Fort Recovery’s founding unfolds…from the defeat of Gen. Arthur St. Clair in 1791 and the successful defense of the fort by Gen. Anthony Wayne in 1794 through the industrial revolution to the modern-day village of Fort Recovery.
