
DARKE COUNTY — A Bradford woman was airlifted from the scene of an accident Thursday afternoon when she drove her van off the road and struck a guardrail.
On Aug. 11, at approximately 2:47 p.m. Darke County Deputies along with Tri-Village Rescue, New Madison Fire and Indiana University’s Life Line Helicopter were dispatched to State Route 121 north of U.S. Route 36 West in reference to the single-car accident.
The preliminary investigation revealed a blue 2002 Oldsmobile van driven by Chelsea L. Lear, 26 of Bradford, was traveling southbound on State Route 121 when she traveled off the right side of the roadway, over corrected traveling back across the roadway striking a guardrail. Witnesses observed Lear become partially ejected upon impact with the guardrail.
Lear, the only occupant in the van was transported to Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton by IU Life Line Helicopter where she is listed in stable condition.
Ohio Department of Transportation was also called to the scene to inspect the damage to the guardrail. This accident remains under investigation by the Darke County Sheriff’s Office.
