GREENVILLE – The Franklin Monroe boys golf team improved to 2-0 in Cross County Conference play with a 172-186 victory against Newton on Thursday at Turtle Creek Golf Course.
Noah Koffer led Franklin Monroe with a nine-hole round of 40. Also for the Jets, Jeremy Bridenbaugh shot a 42, Bryce Filbrun shot a 43, Hunter Rich shot a 47, Derek Lusher shot a 52, and Luke Booher shot a 57.
Newton’s Chet Jamison was the match medalist with a 38, Grant Bayer shot a 49, Drew Thiesing shot a 49, Milan Bess shot a 50, Nathan Zielinski shot a 52, and Nash Lavy shot a 62.
Franklin Monroe returns to action Monday as the Jets host Bradford with a 4:30 p.m. tee time.
