DARKE COUNTY – Cross County Conference varsity and junior varsity volleyball teams from Ansonia, Arcanum, Bradford, Franklin Monroe, Mississinawa Valley, Newton, Tri-County North and Tri-Village will compete in the Greenville Federal Volleyball Invitational.
The invitational is scheduled for Saturday with the varsity tournament at Mississinawa Valley and the junior varsity tournament at Franklin Monroe. Each match will feature a best-of-three-sets format with each set being played to 25 points.
The varsity portion of the tournament will begin at 9 a.m. at Mississinawa Valley with Newton against Tri-County North in the Jackson Gym and Arcanum against Mississinawa Valley in the Nest Gym.
The first round of the varsity tournament will conclude with matches at 10 a.m. featuring Bradford against Tri-Village in the Jackson Gym and Ansonia against Franklin Monroe in the Nest Gym.
Second round games will begin at 11 a.m. and noon in both gyms. The third place and seventh place matches will be at 1 p.m. while the championship and consolation championship matches are scheduled for 2 p.m.
The junior varsity tournament will follow the same schedule at Franklin Monroe, beginning at 9 a.m. with Newton against Tri-County North in the old gym and Arcanum against Mississinawa Valley in the main gym. At 10 a.m. Bradford will play Tri-Village in the old gym and Ansonia will play Franklin Monroe in the new gym. Like the varsity tournament, the championship match is scheduled for 2 p.m.
Admission at both sites is $5 per person. Fans who pay at one venue and go to the other venue don’t have to pay a second time.
The only passes being accepted are CCC passes. No school passes, senior citizen passes or any other passes will be accepted.
