GREENVILLE – The Tippecanoe boys soccer team visited Greenville Tuesday night boasting the No. 14 ranking in the most recent state coaches poll and third in the Miami Valley ratings.

The Red Devils led by two goals by Andrew Debrosse raised their record to 12-0 on the season with a 4-0 victory.

“Tipp moved the ball very well and played with a fast pace,” Green Wave coach Mark Coppess said.

Tipp City jumped out to a 1-0 advantage with 33:19 remaining in the first half as Nathan Hamberg opened the scoring.

Most of the first half play was centered in the Greenville end of the field due to the Red Devil pressure applied at the mid-field area.

DeBrosse found the back of the net for the first time with 20:28 until the intermission to put Tipp up 2-0, which would stand until the intermission.

Greenville’s halftime adjustments began to pay dividends quickly. The Green Wave began making advances into the Tipp end of the field and scoring chances started to open up. The Wave continued to pressure the Red Devils but were unable to score.

Tipp City was able to burst out of the Wave offensive pressure on several occasions for breakaway goal opportunities. DeBrosse converted again with 12:08 left, putting the Red Devils ahead 3-0, and a final minute goal by Hunter McGraw closed out the scoring at 4-0.

“We played our game from start to finish,” Coppess said. “We kept our balance and supported each other very well besides the three goal s… They earned the last goal.”
