Ansonia bowling teams lose WOHSBC season openers

WAPAKONETA – The Ansonia bowling teams lost their West Ohio High School Bowling Conference season openers on Saturday at Astro Lanes in Wapakoneta.

The Ansonia girls bowling team lost 2,206-1,775 to Celina.

Audrey Kelly led Ansonia with games of 139 and 134. Also for the Lady Tigers, Molly Walls had games of 147 and 117, Rebecca Thornhill had games of 140 and 112, Rose Swanson rolled a 116, Madison Stover rolled a 111, Lexi Shinn rolled a 109, and Sarah Rhoades rolled a 108.

Ansonia fell to 0-1 on the season with the loss while Celina improved to 1-0.

The Ansonia boys lost 2,144-1,452 to Lima Central Catholic.

Tyler Dishman led Ansonia with games of 130 and 113. Also for the Tigers, Charles Murphy had games of 128 and 98, Allen Christman had games of 105 and 113, Jacob Vietor rolled a 96, Jedd Rismiller rolled a 90, Tyler Clark rolled a 77, and Damien Hampton rolled a 67.

Ansonia fell to 0-1 on the year with the loss while Lima Central Catholic improved to 1-0.

The Ansonia boys and girls will continue their season on Saturday at Plaza Lanes in Celina. The Ansonia boys will face Parkway at 9:45 a.m., and the Ansonia girls will face Parkway at 1 p.m.
