After I interviewed Trent Fasnacht, a former Darke countian now living and working in South Carolina, a couple of weeks ago via telephone and email, I knew I just had to watch the Jan. 4 episode of DIY Network, showing his work.
It was on a Wednesday night and I just so happened to have the TV to myself. However, it was 8:50 p.m. before I remembered it was to air, so I missed that much of it. But it was apparently to show until 4 a.m., so I watched quite a bit of it until it was probably bedtime.
He was featured in an episode showing off two of the houses he has remodeled. They weren’t really the standard fixer-uppers; the homes were run-down and had been condemned…until he got his hands on them.
Trent came across on the TV screen as he did in our interview. He was very knowledgeable about construction and is truly great at his art… with his own construction business, to boot.
It is amazing what he knows about the history of homes and buildings, and how he bases his work on that. He comes up with very unique ideas.
This latest episode on DIY was nothing new to Trent. He has appeared on previous episodes, featuring other works he’s done.
His parents, Keith and Judy, who still live in the area, are surely proud of him. I was and I have never ever really met him.
Hope others had the opportunity to see the show. If not, maybe there will be reruns later. Then, I suggest they be viewed.
I wish Trent all the luck in the world, but I think it’s already on his side. He seems like a successful businessman and having fun at what he does.
