KETTERING – The Greenville girls bowling team finished just 30 pins short of qualifying for districts on Wednesday in the Division I sectional meet at Poelking Woodman Lanes.
The Greenville girls rolled a 3,283 to finish 11th out of 21 teams in the Ohio High School Athletic Association sectional meet. The Lady Wave finished 30 pins behind Bellefontaine, who with a 3,313 finished ninth and earned the final district-qualifying spot.
Troy won the sectional meet with a 4,029 and advanced to districts along with Beavercreek, Centerville, Fairmont, Miamisburg, Vandalia-Butler, Wayne, Fairborn and Bellefontaine.
Greenville’s top individual bowler was senior Hannah Bingham who rolled a three-game series of 502 with games of 162, 176 and 164. She finished 32nd overall and was just 17 pins out of district-qualifying position as an individual.
Greenville senior Alejandra Segura finished 40th with games of 151, 191 and 140 for a 482 series.
Senior Mackenzie Slade finished 50th with games of 147, 148 and 160 for a 455 series.
Sophomore Shila Thompson rolled a 454 series with games of 140, 158 and 156 to finish 51st.
Senior Leslie Miller rolled games of 134 and 179 while sophomore Mariah Nicholas rolled a 109.
Beavercreek’s Brittany-Ann O’Connell won the sectional championship with a three-game series of 698.
Sidney’s Heather Gold, Xenia’s Kailee Palecek, Sidney’s Jenna Beatty, Piqua’s Rayna Brownlee, Piqua’s Kyra Buchanan, Stebbins’ Alexandria Mann, Springfield’s Courtney Kaffenbarger, Springboro’s Karissa Fox and Xenia’s Caity Moody qualified for the district meet as individuals.
