Missing boy located, safe

A 13-year-old boy reported missing has been located, according to the Darke County Sheriff’s Office.

On Thursday at approximately 12:45 p.m., Tyler Weimer approached a Deputy Sheriff that was searching the area of Godfrey Road. At this point Tyler is being interviewed by deputies but he appears to be unharmed. He will be reunited with his parents as the investigation continues.

The Darke County Sheriff’s Office wishes to thank all those that assisted us in the search including Butler County Sheriff Jones and his Air Unit.

EARLIER STORY

The Darke County Sheriff’s Office is looking for help in locating a boy who has been missing from his home since Wednesday.

Tyler Scott Weimer, age 13, left his residence in that area on the afternoon of February 22 between 3:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. He left the residence without his parent’s knowledge and for reasons unknown.

He is a white male, five feet tall, 115 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. He is known to wear glasses and is believed to be wearing rubber boots, blue jeans, a gray sweatshirt and a camouflage Cabela’s hat. He may also have in his possession a hunting bow, arrows and a hatchet.

On February 22 at 10:01 p.m., Darke County Sheriff’s Deputies, a Darke County Sheriff’s Office K9 Unit and the Liberty Township Fire Department responded to the 1200 block of Weavers Fort Jefferson Road, New Madison, Ohio in reference to the report of a missing juvenile.

Darke County Sheriff’s Deputies and local firefighters conducted a search of the property including the fields and woodland areas around his residence throughout the night; however, Tyler was not located.

Weimer’s disappearance remains under investigation. A search of the area is still ongoing as of this morning.
