Greenville baseball team suffers 1st loss at Bellefontaine


BELLEFONTAINE – The Greenville baseball team suffered its first loss of the season on Wednesday, falling 7-1 at Bellefontaine.

Bellefontaine scored three runs in the bottom of the second inning. After Greenville scored its lone run in the top of the fifth, Bellefontaine scored the game’s final four runs in the bottom half of the inning.

Greenville had five hits and no errors in the game while Bellefontaine had nine hits and two errors.

Greenville’s Logan Eldridge went 2-for-3. Peter Pandey went 1-for-3 with a double and scored a run. Tyler Beyke was 1-for-2 with a double. Landon Eldridge was 1-for-3.

Tanner Ross was charged with the loss as he pitched 3 2/3 innings, allowing three runs on five hits, two walks and two hit batters. Brandon Beyke pitched 1/3 of an inning, allowing four runs on one hit and four walks. Logan Eldridge pitched two innings, allowing no runs on three hits, no walks and one strikeout.

Greenville fell to 3-1 with the loss.
