PITSBURG – Franklin Monroe lost 7-1 to Tri-County North in a Cross County Conference baseball game on Tuesday.
Tri-County North took a 4-0 lead with two runs in the first inning and two in the third. Franklin Monroe scored its lone run of the game in the bottom of the fourth then North scored the game’s final three runs in the sixth inning.
Franklin Monroe had three hits and two errors in the game while Tri-County North had nine hits and one error.
Cade McGlinch led Franklin Monroe by going 2-for-3, stealing a base and scoring a run. Zach Cable was 1-for-3 and stole a base.
Bryce Filbrun was the losing pitcher for FM as he went five innings and allowed four runs on seven hits, one walk, one hit batter and seven strikeouts. Kaleb Poe pitched 2/3 of an inning and allowed three runs on two hits, two walks, one hit batter and two strikeouts. Timothy Lawson pitched 1 1/3 scoreless innings, allowing no hits or walks while striking out four.
