GREENVILLE – Grant Minnich singled to drive in Owen Paulus in the 10th inning as the Greenville baseball team beat Piqua 4-3 in a Greater Western Ohio Conference game.
Greenville scored the game’s first run in the second inning then Piqua tied it in the third. Piqua took a 3-1 lead in the fifth inning, and Greenville scored two runs in the sixth to tie the game once more and send it into extra innings. In the 10th Greenville got the walk-off hit from Minnich to win 4-3.
Greenville had 10 hits and three errors on Monday while Piqua had eight hits and four errors.
Minnich was 2-for-5 with a double and the game-winning RBI. Peter Pandey went 2-for-5, stole a base and scored a run. Logan Eldridge was 1-for-5 with a double, a stolen base and a run.
Tanner Ross was 1-for-4 with a walk. Kyle Mills was 1-for-4 and stole a base. Landon Eldridge, Brandon Beyke and Jason Shields each went 1-for-5. Tyler Beyke walked three times and scored a run.
Mills pitched nine innings, allowing three unearned runs on seven hits, four walks and six strikeouts. Paulus earned the win as he pitched one inning in relief, allowing no runs on one hit, one walk and one strikeout.
