PLEASANT HILL – Newton run ruled Mississinawa Valley 11-1 in five innings of Cross County Conference softball on Tuesday.
Newton scored three runs in the first and second innings to go up 6-0. After Mississinawa Valley scored its lone run in the top of the third, Newton added three runs in the third and two in the fourth.
Newton out-hit MV 13 to three.
Mississinawa Valley’s Paxton Scholl went 2-for-2, stole a base and scored a run. Bailey Johnson was 1-for-2 with a triple and a RBI.
Scholl pitched the complete game, allowing 11 runs on 13 hits, two walks and one strikeout.
