MINSTER – Versailles lost 5-4 to Minster in eight innings of Midwest Athletic Conference softball on Tuesday.
Minster scored four runs in the first inning then Versailles tied the game at 4-4 in the fifth. Minster scored the game-winning run in the bottom of the eighth.
Versailles had eight hits and seven errors while Minster had 10 hits and five errors.
Hailey McEldowney was 1-for-3 with a home run, was hit by a pitch, scored a run and drove in two runs. Sarah Gigandet was 1-for-4 with a double, a run and two RBI. Kami McEldowney was 1-for-3 with a double, a walk and a run. Hallie Mills was 1-for-1 with a double.
Brynna Blakeley was 1-for-4 and stole a base. Hannah Barga went 1-for-1. Anna Gehret was 1-for-3 and walked once. Mallory George was 1-for-3. Caitlin McEldowney scored a run.
Cori Lawrence pitched 4 2/3 innings, allowing four unearned runs on eight hits, no walks, one hit batter and three strikeouts. Caitlin McEldowney pitched three innings, allowing one unearned run on two hits and two walks.
