Mississinawa Valley softball loses 13-12 to Randolph Southern

UNION CITY – Mississinawa Valley lost 13-12 to Randolph Southern in a softball game on Monday.

Randolph Southern took a 4-0 lead in the first inning. Mississinawa cut its deficit to 4-2 in the second, but Randolph Southern added six in the top of the third to lead 10-2. MV made a comeback with one run in the third, three in the fourth and three in the fifth to reduce its deficit to 10-9. After Randolph Southern scored three in the sixth, Mississinawa scored three in the seventh for the 13-12 final score.

Mississinawa Valley had 22 hits, and Randolph Southern had 21 hits.

Kinsie Blocher was 4-for-5 with a double and three RBI. Lindsay Johns went 4-for-5 with four stolen bases, three runs and a RBI. Bailey Johnson was 4-for-5 with two doubles, a stolen base and two runs. Makayla Coning was 4-for-5 with a stolen base, a RBI and a run.

Paxton Scholl went 3-for-4 with a walk, three stolen bases, three runs and a RBI. Jolie Elson was 2-for-5. Taydem Elson went 1-for-4 with a triple, a walk, two RBI and two runs. Lupe Arrona walked three times, scored a run and drove in a run.

Taydem Elson pitched the complete game, allowing 13 runs on 21 hits, three walks, one hit batter and five strikeouts.
