FORT RECOVERY — An Indiana woman is dead after a crash Thursday morning in Mercer County.

At 7:47 a.m., the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office received word of a crash at the intersection of the Ohio-Indiana State Line Road and Lowry Road. Kylee Renee Wells, 24, of Union City, Indiana, was traveling northbound on State Line Road in a 2013 Buick Encore when she failed to stop at the intersection.

She was then struck by a 2007 Dodge truck, driven by Ryan D. Siefring, 27, of Burkettsville, who, along with passenger Leon A. Post, 51, of St. Henry, traveled westbound on Lowry Road.

Wells was pronounced dead at the scene by a member of the Jay County, Indiana, Coroner’s Office. Both Siefring and Post were transported to Mercer Health. The hospital confirmed that both crash victims are no longer in the hospital but would not comment on their conditions.

This marks the fourth fatal traffic crash this year in Mercer County, according to Sheriff Jeff Grey.
