

COVINGTON – Arcanum cross country runner Tanner Delk finished second in the varsity boys race at Covington’s Buccaneer FOE 3998 Invitational on Saturday.
Delk finished the 5K in 16:48.0 to earn runner-up honors behind only Greenon’s Max Pettit, who won the race that included 111 runners with a time of 16:16.6.
Led by Delk, Arcanum’s boys finished sixth as a team. Also for the Trojans, Landon Kreusch finished 21st in 18:27.6, Dakota White finished 30th in 19:12.5, Logan Todd finished 49th in 20:11.3, Ethan Moores finished 75th in 21:24.5, Jimmy Barry finished 84th in 22:14.3, and Mitchel Wogomon finished 99th in 25:22.8.
Franklin Monroe’s boys finished eighth in the team standings. Cole Good finished third overall in 16:53.5, Kyle Ressler finished 25th in 18:42.4, Brendan Hosler finished 38th in 19:32.9, Xavier Gilliland finished 59th in 20:30.7, Justin Chen finished 77th in 21:35.3, Nathaniel Davis finished 78th in 21:37.1, and Isaac Schmitmeyer finished 81st in 21:43.4.
The Tri-Village boys finished 11th in the team standings. Landen Fraylick finished 24th in 18:38.3, Harley Ketring finished 37th in 19:25.0, Matthew Holzapfel finished 45th in 19:59.6, Dalton Cockerham finished 63rd in 20:44.6, and Cameron Armstrong finished 101st in 25:54.6.
Greenon won the 11-team boys race while Russia won the nine-team girls race.
The Franklin Monroe girls finished fourth in the team standings. The Jets’ Selene Weaver finished 13th in 22:24.8, Nicole Brocious finished 26th in 23:18.1, Audrey Cable finished 29th in 23:43.0, Raegan Warner finished 36th in 24:19.9, and Danielle McVey finished 38th in 24:26.8.
Arcanum’s girls finished sixth in the team standings. Mara Wetzel finished 19th in 22:47.3, Aidan O’Brien finished 31st in 23:55.4, Kayla O’Daniel finished 43rd in 25:03.8, Paige Kreusch finished 51st in 26:17.0, Abbigail Vanhoose finished 60th in 27:39.7, Lana Johnson finished 66th in 29:47.5, and Mekenna Gunckel finished 71st in 34:28.3.
Tri-Village’s Lissa Siler finished 44th in the high school girls race in 25:03.8.
Russia’s Becca Seger won the high school girls race, which included 72 runners, in 19:48.9.
