ROSSBURG – The late models, Dirtcar Ump Modifieds and the Eldora stock cars raced Sunday night during Eldora Speedway’s Baltes Classic.
For the American Late Models Eldora hosted four heat races of eight laps each, two B features of 12 laps each and the A feature that was 30 laps.
Taking first in the first heat was the 88of Andrew Reaume, second was the 7R of Kent Robinson, third was the 18K of Brandon Kinzer and fourth was the 7B of Jeff Babcock.
In heat two taking home the black and white checkered was the 21 of Billy Moyer, in second was the 12 of Jason Jameson, third was the 17M of Dale McDowell and fourth was the CJ1 of Rusty Schlenk.
The C9 of Steve Casebolt won heat three, in second was the15H of Jon Henry, third was the 20H of Jacob Hawkins and fourth the 1N of Casey Noonan.
Taking home first for heat four was the 101 of Casey Roberts, second was the 25 of Jason Feger, third was the 6 of Victor Lee and fourth was the 33 of Jesse James Lay.
Taking home first place for the B Feature was the 5N of Dustin Nobbe, second was the 3 of Matt Miller, third was the 49 of Brian Ruhlman and fourth was the 20C of Duane Chamberlain.
The B feature two saw the B1 of Brent Larson in first, second was the 83 of Scott James, third was the 77 of Steve Kester and fourth was the 9N of Ted Nobbe.
Taking home the black and white checkered for the A feature was the 21 of Billy Moyer, second was the 17M of Dale McDowell, third was the 7R of Kent Robinson and fourth was the 25 of Jason Feger.
Moyer passed Reaume on lap seven but had to survive a few restarts during the race to keep the lead.
“Last year was supposed to be my last World 100 races, but I did so bad that I decided to come back for one more year and built this car to race here,” he said. “This will probably be my last year.”
Next were the Dirtcar UMP modifieds for four heat races of each eight laps then two B features of eight laps and finally the A Feature for 30 laps.
In heat one was the 9H of Bradley Sterrett, in second was the13H of Jacob Hawkins, third was the 49 of Brian Ruhlman and fourth was the 17 of Brandon Ramsey.
Taking home first place for heat two was the 18 of Ryan Sutter, in second was the 7 of Evan Taylor, third was the 22T of Tony Anderson and fourth was the 5 of Jonathan Taylor.
The 4 of Jon Henry won heat three, in second was the 8L of Jimmy Lennex Jr., third was the 36 of Brandon Vaughan and fourth was the 09D of Joel Dick.
In heat four the 11 of Josh Rice was followed by the 99W of Chris Arnold in second, the 95J of Jerry Bowersock in third and fourth was the 20M of Josh Morton.
Finishing in first for B Feature One was the 2D of Curtis Deisenroth, second was the 10L of Nathon Loney, third was the 16 of Jeff Koz and fourth was the 5X of Tim Richardson.
For B Feature two finishing in first was the 6J of Jay Humphrey, second was the 1of Scott Williams, third was the 13 of Andy Galgoci and fourth was the 01 of Earnie Woodard.
Taking home the black and white checkered for the A Feature was the 4 of Jon Henry, second was the 13H of Jacob Hawkins, third was the 11 of Josh Rice and fourth was the 18 of Ryan Sutter.
Henry led all 20 laps for his sixth career win.
“We didn’t start off that good, but Mike made some adjustments, and the car was really good,” he said. “I think we will be ready for the UMP Nationals.”
Hawkins gave him a great race but had to defend off Rice at the end so could not get caught up with Henry.
The Eldora Stock Cars had three feature races for eight laps and then the A Feature race for 15 laps.
Taking home first for feature one was the 55 of Brandon Archey, second was the 99J of Donnie Jeschke, third was the J2 of Rob Trent and fourth was the 91 of Ed Hounshell.
In heat two taking home first was the 95 of Gary Rahe Jr., in second was the 01 of Earnie Woodard, third was the 27 of Frank Paladino and fourth was the 17c of Jeremy Creech.
The 82 of Chris Douglas took first in heat three followed by the 7 of Daniel Sanchez in second, the 5W of Craig Swartz in third and fourth was the 15 of Drew Trick.
Taking home the black and white checkered for A feature was the 410 of Paul Pardo, second was the 27 of Frank Paladino, third was the 99J of Donnie Jeschke and fourth was the J2 of Rob Trent.
Even though Pardo won three events in 2016, this is Pardo’s first win for 2017. He got up front on lap three and just led it the rest of the way.
The next race events at Eldora are Thursday, Friday and Saturday with the World 100.
