GETTYSBURG — A man is dead after his vehicle struck a tree early Sunday morning outside Gettysburg.

On Nov. 22 at approximately 3:11 a.m., Darke County deputies along with Gettysburg Fire and Gettysburg Rescue were dispatched to the 6100 block of Arcanum Bears Mill Road in reference to an accident with injuries.

Preliminary investigation revealed a black 2007 Chevy truck driven by Jeremy D. Parrish, 31, was traveling southbound on Arcanum Bears Mill Road. Parrish traveled off the right side of the roadway, then overcorrected, causing the vehicle to travel off the left side of the roadway where his vehicle struck a tree.

Parrish succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Darke County Sheriff’s Office Accident Reconstruction Team and the Darke County Coroner’s Office Investigator were also called to the scene for further investigation.

This accident remains under investigation by the Darke County Sheriff’s Office.
