Edison State Board of Trustees holds Special Meeting June 13

PIQUA — The Board of Trustees of Edison State Community College held a Special Board Meeting, in executive session, on Monday, June 13, 2022 from 2 to 6 p.m. for the purpose of discussing personnel matters, specifically the employment of a public employee.

Tri-County Board of Recovery and Mental Health to meet June 15

TROY — The next regular meeting of the Tri-County Board of Recovery and Mental Health Services will be Wednesday June 15 at 6:45 p.m. A public Budget Hearing for comment on the Board’s CY2023 Budget will take place from 4 to 4:30 p.m. The Finance Committee will meet at 6 p.m. A Records Commission meeting will commence at 6:15 p.m. or at the conclusion of the Finance Committee meeting to review proposed changes to the Board’s records retention schedule.

Greenville BoE to meet June 16

GREENVILLE — In accordance with Section 3313.16, Revised Code of Ohio, you are hereby notified that the Treasurer of the Board of Education of the Greenville City School District, Darke County, Ohio, has called a Regular meeting of said Board of Education, Thursday, the 16 day of June, 2022, at 6:30 p.m., in the High School Media Room, Greenville High School, Greenville, Ohio. The purpose of the meeting is to present any business that may come before the Board. Preceding the Regular meeting, there is to be a work session at 5:30 p.m. for a field house construction update and walk through.

Franklin Monroe BoE to meet June 27

PITSBURG — The Franklin Monroe Board of Education will hold a Board of Education meeting in the Board of Education conference room at 8639 Oakes Road on Monday, June 27, 2022. The meeting will begin at 8 p.m.

SafeHaven expands to Saturdays beginning July

DARKE, MIAMI, SHELBY COUNTIES — SafeHaven will be adding SATURDAYS to its services at all sites across Darke, Miami, and Shelby County, beginning in July. Free peer support, meals, groups, classes, transportation, social activities, field trips, fun, family, friends, and hope…is expanding to Saturdays at SafeHaven!

Cancer Association of Darke County hosts annual fundraiser July 9

GREENVILLE — Cancer Association of Darke County is holding their annual BBQ Chicken/Marinated Pork Fundraiser on July 9. Orders must be received no later than June 30.

Meals are $9, and each meal will contain: BBQ Chicken or Pork Chop, a Dinner Roll, a Bag of Chips and a cup of Apple Sauce.

All proceeds received will be used to benefit cancer patients living in Darke County. To participate, mail in your order today along with a check for $9 for each dinner to Cancer Association of Darke County, PO Box 781, Greenville, OH 45331.

Those wishing to purchase dinners may also call 937-548-9960 or email [email protected] with any questions.

Participants can pick up their meals on July 9, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Romer’s Catering, 118 E. Main St. (next to Circle Mart). Participants are asked to remain in the vehicle and the dinners will be brought out.

Darke County students named to Ohio Northern University Dean’s List

ADA, Ohio — The following students from Darke County were named to the Dean’s List for spring semester 2022 at Ohio Northern University. To be eligible for the Dean’s List, a student must attain a grade point average of 3.5 or higher and be enrolled full time:

Makenzie Berning – Versailles High School; Brooks Blakeley – Versailles High School; Ashlyn Cordonnier – Versailles High School; Corbin Holzapfel – Tri-Village High School; Mallory Marshal – Versailles High School.

Cedarville University names Darke County students to Dean’s List

CEDARVILLE, Ohio — The following students were named to the Dean’s List at Cedarville University for spring 2022. This recognition requires the student to obtain a 3.5 GPA or higher for the semester and carry a minimum of 12 credit hours: Alia Ayette of Palestine, Natasha Dobson of Greenville, Benjamin Philiposian of Union City, and Kara Spitzer Versailles.
