Genealogy group to meet

GREENVILLE — Darke County Genealogy is having a meeting on Sunday, March 5, 1 p.m. (Note the time; this is earlier than usual.) The meeting is at the Extension Office on Wagner Avenue between Edison State and the Veterans Service Office. The speaker will be Hannah Weist. She will be speaking on 1880’s Women’s Clothing. Weist is a history enthusiast. She is a historical interpreter at Carriage Hill Farm, an 1880’s living history site, in Huber Heights. She has been an active member of the living history community since 2011. Weist believes that textbooks give only a peek into the past. To get a true picture, one must look to the joys, struggles, and hardships of the everyday people who lived it. They will have refreshments after. This meeting is open to anyone.
