Arcanum News

Every year Arcanum Village can nominate a student from within the Arcanum Water & Light service area for an AMP Scholarship. This year, several students from Arcanum Butler Schools interviewed with Village staff and after much consideration, Elaine Hollinger was chosen as the Village’s nomination. Elaine came into the Village Office and worked with Utility Superintendent, Randy Baker, and Village Administrator, Marcus Ballinger, on preparing for and taking the AMP required testing. It is with much excitement that they announce and wish congratulations to Elaine Hollinger on receiving an AMP Scholarship! The Village of Arcanum would like to thank American Municipal Power, Inc. for providing this scholarship opportunity to our local students!

Arcanum graduate, Abbigail VanHoose, is a third-year Interior Design student at Ohio State University and was awarded a scholarship from The Dayton Society of Interior Designers (DSID), as well as an additional scholarship from Bockrath Flooring and Rugs (one of DSID’s platinum-level industry partners). The scholarships were awarded in recognition of Abbigail’s strong use of design terminology, innovative designs, creativity, and rendering skills. Beth Segal, Scholarship Chair, had stated during the banquet’s presentation that many of the designers who were attending the event did not know about the newer design principle, biophilia, which was a core aspect in Abbigail’s observed projects. Congrats Abbi!
